Unga Teatern: Theatre for the young

Unga Teatern is the longest standing youth theatre in Finland, governed by Skolteaterföreningen rf. This professional theatre was founded in 1960 as a touring theatre. Since 1984, Unga Teatern has operated in the old Lillklobb manor surroundings in Espoo, Finland.

Unga Teatern is a bilingual theatre that produces 2-3 theatre performances annually, both for the home stage and tours. Visiting performances and collaborations add to the theatre’s own productions. The plays are mainly performed in Finnish and Swedish.

Supporting the art education of children and the youth is at the core of our work. The theater’s audience experience outreach collaborates with kindergartens, schools and other interest groups. The theater also organizes courses on art approaches in education for early-education professionals and teachers.
